Zimmi has lived in the Byron Shire for over 25 years, her move to the Northern Rivers region underpinned by her passion for clean living, sustainability, and the environment.
She is skilled in basketry, carpentry, floristry, and ceramics. Combine this with successful basketry exhibitions and a fine arts background, 12 solo shows, and work that has also been showcased in nationally recognised exhibitions including Sculpture by the Sea, Conrad Jupiters, The Blake Prize and Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (just to name just a few), we feel truly blessed to have her as part of our tribe of passionate partner artisans.
Zimmi acknowledges the abundance that the plant kingdom is consistently gifting and how indigenous people from all tribes survived because of this. For this reason, she maintain her grass roots attitude and continues to teach basketry, fibre art and foraging skills with a strong emphasis on ethical and moral practices.
